Airport Personnel at the Field Maintenance Platoon

31st Air Base Battalion

The 31st Air Base Battalion consists of a battalion command with an associated battalion staff and four companies: 311th Staff & Logistics Company, 312th Protection Airfield Work Company, 313th Basic Training Company, and 314th Air Base Security Company.

The Field Maintenance Platoon is part of the 312th Airfield Work Company, which primarily works with the operation of Malmen Air Base and the development of personnel and operations towards the military unit's objectives. The company is adapted to the flying units operating within the Linköping garrison, which may involve irregular working hours including weekends and standby duty.

Main Responsibilities

The main task for an airport personnel is field maintenance service, where you operate various types of heavy vehicles such as wheel loaders, tractors, and trucks with special equipment to prepare runways, for example, through snow removal.

Since many of our tasks are linked to the military unit, the military aspect is important in our work. This means that you should be able to act as a soldier and participate in exercises and training in areas such as combat and medical care.

The work may involve occasionally working at other locations and being away from home part of the time, for example during exercises and training.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Swedish citizen
• Class B driver's license and military driver's license for trucks and heavy trailers.
• Meets the Armed Forces' physical requirements (FM FysS)
• Position-trained field maintenance soldier

Meritorious

• Class C-E driver's license
• Driver's license for wheel loaders
• Driver's license for excavators/loader-excavators
